At The Kettle we extend a hand in friendship to those who are struggling on the streets today.

Through an active Drop-In Centre and a range of other programs, we care for people facing significant challenges with their mental health by offering practical help today and hope for the future.

The Kettle staff were always around. They offered me food, blankets, clothes…always asking if I needed anything. They were patient and they waited for me to be ready to come inside.

Meet Terry-Lee

With the support and encouragement of The Kettle community, Terry-Lee has built an inspiring new life for herself. She is housed, employed and studying to become a mental health worker herself.

"For many years, I turned to substances to self-medicate, living on the street in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, bouncing in and out of shelters. I’d lost my way and I didn’t know where to turn for help."

What We Do

The Kettle Society is a leader of community support in Vancouver — meeting the urgent needs of our city's most vulnerable people for almost 50 years.

We serve a community of 6,000+ vulnerable individuals each year, manage 400+ units of supportive housing, and operate a mental health drop-in centre that provides meals every day of the year. We also provide a range of community services including advocacy, an ID bank, homeless outreach, a women’s transition house, a health clinic, a volunteer program, and supported employment.

Join our monthly donor family

By spreading your donations out during the year, you are providing us with generosity we can rely on. Consistent monthly contributions enable us to reduce administrative expenses and plan ahead for projects big and small that truly change lives.

When you join The Collective Brew, you will be a part of a community of people who care deeply about their neighbours who are struggling.
