Mental health & well-being

At The Kettle Society, we meet people wherever they are at in their journey towards health, wellness, recovery, and well-being. We offer support, a helping hand, resources/referrals, or simply a safe space to come in from the outdoors and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Poverty & Homelessness

We know how integral and transformative a sustainable and supportive living environment can be for an individual’s mental health, that’s why we are committed to addressing the need for safe, affordable and appropriate housing in Vancouver.

Be inspired by our community's stories of overcoming challenges and thriving.

“When I lost my son to an overdose in 2017, I turned to The Kettle to get me through a difficult period of time. I’ve never received so much support, it means a lot. When you haven’t felt that before, it’s like wow – people really care.”

“The name – The Kettle Friendship Society says it all. It’s a friendly place. I made friends there, found companionship and camaraderie. The staff was kind, compassionate and caring. It was a safe place, like a haven or a sanctuary.”

“The Kettle has supported me in all ways. I was diagnosed 19 years ago with borderline paranoid schizophrenia. Many people want to keep me away but the staff at The Kettle want to bring you in. They want to hear your story. They want to listen to you!”

“I live at Main & Hastings. One day is bad with lots of anxiety, the next day is good. It helps me to be here at The Kettle drop-in. I feel comfortable and at home.”
