Recovery Café Open House Recap

After 2+ years of virtual meetings, we couldn’t wait to host our community in person again. The Recovery Café Open House was the perfect opportunity to gather, celebrate and connect. Laughter, conversation, and music filled the room as we raised much-needed funds for the programs that are helping people in recovery from mental illness, trauma, and/or substance use. It was a great night thanks to our guests and members who made it so meaningful.

The evening started with a very special traditional opening ceremony, powerful speeches, and dance performed by our community partners Seis^^lom and Little Bear. We are very grateful they were there to share their knowledge, culture, and experience with us.

The idea for the open house was to connect in person with our communities, showcase the unique concept behind The Recovery Café, and share opportunities for everyone to contribute to amazing programs for our members.

Our goal was to raise $10,000 and we made it!

One of the highlights of the evening was the auction. Thank you to everyone who took part!

Over twenty locally made, handcrafted items were offered for bidding for both online and in-person auctions. From a pottery teapot and bowl to handmade jewelry, silk scarves, leather wallets, wooden boxes, and art. Big thanks to all of the artists and craftsmen who donated to the auction, and came to show their support at the event!

We’ve heard wonderful feedback and genuine excitement for The Recovery Café and we feel blessed and thankful for our amazing community that continues to gather and show its support for The Kettle.
