The Kettle Society supports people with mental illness to lead healthier lives by providing support services, advocacy, employment, and mentoring and housing. We work to raise awareness of mental health issues, break down stigma and reduce barriers for people with mental illness. Maintenance Worker - Taylor Manor - Full Time

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure & Facilities or designated, the Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair related to buildings and equipment; performs routine preventative maintenance duties within the building.

Monday to Friday: 9am to 5pm or Tuesday to Saturday: 9am to 5pm

Salary & Compensation:

$25.18 to $26.84 per hour plus benefits

Duties:

  • Knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance and repair

  • Ability to track receipts and maintain a balanced petty cash float

  • Ability to appropriately complete work orders

  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to work with people with a mental illness

  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others

  • Ability to organize and prioritize

  • Ability to operate related equipment

  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12.

  • Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education training and experience (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry or painting consistent with applicable codes and regulations).

  • Valid Basic First Aid, WHMIS and Mental Health First Aid

Abilities & Skills:
