Licensed Care FacilitiesWomen often experience mental illness differently than men and need their own space for recovery. So, we have one facility specifically for women with mental illness: Peggy’s Place. This facility offers 24-hour staffing in a home like atmosphere. Residents have the opportunity to develop life skills in a supportive environment through resident involvement and programming. Residents receive daily administration of medications and meals are provided.

The staff works within the psychosocial model to foster independence and choice where independence and self reliance is promoted. Staff members assist women to maintain their mental and physical health as they work on their personal goals and effectiveness. During the women’s stay they are referred to mental health support, GP and dentists, and if necessary trauma counseling, and drug and alcohol programs.

Peggy’s Place: Opened in 1997. Peggy’s Place is a 10-bed one of a kind 6-month transitional house for women living with mental illness who have experienced domestic violence or who are living with violence in their lives.
